It was a strange feeling visiting Stourbridge to see Craig Underhill. It was only the second time I had been back to Stourbridge having moved away 21 years ago. It had changed a lot since the 1980’s. The area on the edge of the Black Country was in terminal decline when I moved there in 1983, the manufacturing heart of the UK had been decimated and it was bit of a miserable place.
Stourbridge appeared to have survived those thought times and I was a please to met Craig and his wife, ceramic artist Emma Spence. Together Craig and I selected 12 examples of his work for www.onlineceramics.com. The work will be available to view very soon.
