Lara Scobie produces clear-cut slip-cast vessels using parian clay to which she applies fresh abstract decoration. Her shapes are energised by their asymmetries and the geometric rhythms of her surface drawing. The forms have a quiet freedom of finish and marking that gives them considerable softness, all the more attractive to handle and use, and giving each piece individuality and character.
