Oval leaning vessel

This is a thrown, altered and assembled black earthenware oval leaning vessel by Richard Phethean. This pot was decorated with brushed slips and paper resist on the leather hard clay to create the graphic surface motifs, then after bisque firing areas are selectively stained and wax resisted prior to being glazed. Richard is pictured holding this pot that he signed on the base.
