Cornish Sphere

This is a thrown stoneware sphere by Matthew Blakely made using clays collected from Devon and glazes made entirely from rocks collected from Cornwall, including Land’s End granite and Lizard (the area in Cornwall, not the reptile) gabbro. The pot was then wood fired. Matthew is pictured holding this vessel that he has signed on the base.
