Tall oval bottle

A tall, thrown and altered red earthenware oval bottle by Richard Phethean, decorated with brushed slips and paper resist to create striking graphic motifs. After bisque firing, selective staining and wax resist were applied before finishing with a honey glaze. Richard is pictured holding this vessel, which he has signed on the base.
