Online Ceramics is on the move!

Massive subscribers offer is on its way

On 15 August 2022 Online Ceramics will be moving 300 miles from its Peterborough home in East Anglia across the country to Plymouth in Devon. Plymouth is where Online Ceramics founder Peter Ward grew up and had his first job working as a potter for John Pollex at the Barbican Craft Workshops. Online Ceramics came about following chats Peter had with John over a number of years about the challenges potters faced selling their work to the public. Needless-to-say, John was the first potter to sign up to Online Ceramics.

To reduce the amount of pots needing to be moved, on Saturday 6 August from 3.00 pm, Online Ceramics will be holding a sale strictly for subscribers. There will be massive offers on everything (excluding gift cards)! This promotion is expected to be extremely popular. To give everyone a fair chance of securing a bargain, Online Ceramics will be sending subscribers a special discount code enabling them to buy up to three pots at a time.

Online Ceramics first started shipping pots 12 years ago from the attic of Peter’s home in Peterborough. Buying studio pottery online proved popular and pots quickly began to be shipped throughout the UK and across the world. It was not long before Online Ceramics started taking over the house, with every spare space being used to store pots. To accommodate this expanding collection Peter sought out a dedicated base for Online Ceramics. As chance would have it, a former hairdresser saloon became available only yards away from Peter’s home (45 feet to be precise). That is when, four years ago, Peter opened the OC Gallery.

After living in Peterborough for 32 years Peter missed the sea and walking on Dartmoor, so for the last couple years he has been planning the move to his home city. Peter said, “I’m really looking forward to finally moving back to Plymouth after all these years. It’s a great city with a vibrant arts scene. I’m pleased to have secured a commercial unit on the Scott Business Park, just half a mile from where I grew up.”
