This large, wheel-thrown stoneware plate by ceramicist Daniel Boyle features bold swallow motifs, created using layered applications of slip, ash, and salt glazes. These traditional firing techniques produce a richly textured surface with natural variation, making each piece one of a kind.
The plate is finished with Daniel’s stamped potter’s mark on the base, a mark of authenticity and craftsmanship. In the accompanying images, the artist is shown holding the dish to give a clear sense of its scale.
