Jar with loop handle

This wheel-thrown stoneware jar by Francis Lloyd-Jones has a cut square lid with a loop handle. Finished in black slip and then fired in a salt kiln, the pot has a deep, almost metallic surface. Francis is pictured holding the pot, which bears his impressed potter’s mark on the base.
